    Description

    FirstLook

    FLIR

The FLIR FirstLook is a rugged, compact throwable robot built to deliver immediate situational awareness, persistent surveillance, and safe hazardous material investigation in confined or dangerous environments.

Designed for fast deployment, FirstLook powers up in seconds and can be thrown into buildings, tunnels, or hazardous spaces where larger robots can’t operate. It provides real-time visual, audio, and sensor feedback to operators, enabling tactical teams to assess risks before entry and respond more effectively.

At just under 6 lb, FirstLook is lightweight, durable, and maneuverable, capable of:
    • Climbing over curbs and small obstacles
    • Turning in place for tight navigation
    • Self-righting when flipped over

The robot operates seamlessly using the uPoint® Multi-Robot Control System with a touchscreen tablet interface, allowing users to switch between robots and payloads with ease. It also utilizes the MPU5 radio operating on the Wave Relay® MANET, creating a resilient communications network between operators, observers, and multiple robots in the field.

    Features

    • THROWABLE, RUGGED, AND MANEUVERABLE

    • HIGHLY MANEUVERABLE

    • POWERFUL MULTI-SENSOR CAPABILITY

    • CONTROLLABLE FROM THE UPOINT MULT-ROBOT CONTROL SYSTEM

    • SUPERIOR COMMUNICATIONS

    THROWABLE, RUGGED, AND MANEUVERABLE

Weighing 6.6 lb (3kg), FirstLook survives 16 ft (5 m) drops onto concrete.

CONTROLLABLE FROM THE UPOINT MULT-ROBOT CONTROL SYSTEM

Using the touchscreen-based ruggedized tablet controller, an operator can select from across the family of connected robots.

    HIGHLY MANEUVERABLE

FirstLook climbs obstacles up to 7” (17.8 cm) high, overcomes curbs, turns in place and self-rights when flipped over.

    SUPERIOR COMMUNICATIONS

The MPU5 radio operating on the Wave Relay MANET, allows the robot to penetrate deeper into complex structures and further downrange than ever before.

    POWERFUL MULTI-SENSOR CAPABILITY

Four color cameras with zoom and illumination, plus audio capability are integrated into FirstLook. Optional CBRN/ HazMat sensors available.
