DuraChem 500
Kappler
The DuraChem 500 from Kappler is a high-performance chemical protective suit engineered for CBRN and general hazmat response, including terrorism incident response. Certified to NFPA 1994 Class 1 and Class 2, this tactical-style, non-encapsulating garment delivers maximum protection without the cost of reusable systems—making it a smart, budget-conscious solution for emergency responders.
Designed as a multi-use, single-exposure garment, the DuraChem 500 features a rear-entry configuration that simplifies doffing and reduces contamination risk. The elastomeric face seal fits securely around a respirator, eliminating the need for tape and improving operational efficiency.
Flash Fire Tested for Real-World Performance
The DuraChem 500 has undergone Pyroman Thermal Manikin testing at North Carolina State University, simulating chemical flash-fire environments up to 1900°F. After 3 seconds of thermal exposure, test results indicated 0% predicted body burn—a testament to the garment’s advanced heat and flame resistance.
