The FLIR Tether Kit for the R70 and R80D platforms delivers uninterrupted power and data connectivity for extended UAS missions—ideal for surveillance, communications, public safety, and defense operations. This tethered drone system enables secure, RF-quiet flight at elevations up to 100 meters AGL, supporting a broad range of mission payloads while reducing radio frequency signatures.

The system includes a detachable harness and power converter, battery replacement modules, and is compatible with off-the-shelf ground stations, such as the Elistair Safe-T. Designed for quick field deployment, the Tether Kit can be installed or removed in under 5 minutes, offering unmatched flexibility in austere or time-sensitive operations. In the event of tether power loss, the system automatically alerts the operator and seamlessly switches to internal batteries. It will continue flight until battery levels reach a threshold—then autonomously triggers a controlled descent or safe auto-landing, preserving equipment and mission continuity.
