Description
The DrugDetect-F1 lets your team presumptively test for fentanyl and methamphetamine in the field without ever touching the suspected substance. It uses photoemission/reflection spectroscopy — ultraviolet light tuned to specific wavelengths — to read powders straight through transparent polyethylene bags or wrap. No contact, no sample handling, no opening the bag.
It detects methamphetamine at 1.0% concentration or greater and fentanyl at 0.5% or greater. Slide the light shield into place, set the aperture over the bagged sample, and press the green button once. Within seconds an indicating LED returns a positive or negative result. Screening data can be stored and exported using the software on the included USB drive.
The unit is the size of a smartphone and weighs 16 ounces, so it travels easily and works one-handed in the field. It ships in a heavy-duty hard case with everything needed to start screening, including positive and negative reference samples. Proper PPE should still be worn when handling any suspected drugs; follow your department’s handling guidelines.
