FarrWest holds four BuyBoard contracts: 703-23, 718-23, 769-25 and 798-26. If your agency is a BuyBoard member, you can buy detection, protective and response equipment from us on a contract that has already been competitively procured, without running a bid of your own.

BuyBoard is a national purchasing cooperative used by schools, cities, counties and other governmental entities. Vendors are awarded contracts through a competitive process run by the cooperative, so a member agency can order against an awarded contract instead of writing specs, advertising and evaluating bids itself.
Membership belongs to the agency, not the vendor. If you are not sure whether your department is a member, your purchasing office can tell you. If it is not, registration is handled on BuyBoard’s own website.
Your purchasing rules still apply. Most agencies treat a BuyBoard purchase as meeting their competitive procurement requirement, but confirm with your procurement office before you issue the PO.

Review the contract quote
We return a written quote with BuyBoard contract pricing and the contract number for each item, ready for your approval process.

Issue your purchase order
Send the PO to FarrWest and reference the BuyBoard contract number from the quote. We confirm the order and handle it from there.

Does my agency have to be a BuyBoard member?
Yes. Purchases on a BuyBoard contract are made by member agencies. If your agency isn’t a member yet, registration is done directly with BuyBoard, and we can point you to it.
Can agencies outside Texas use these contracts?
BuyBoard is a national purchasing cooperative, so eligibility depends on membership rather than location. Check with your procurement office and BuyBoard before ordering.
Do we still need to go out for bid?
BuyBoard contracts are awarded through a competitive process, which is why most member agencies can buy without a separate bid. Your own purchasing policy has the final say.
Can we buy service, not just equipment, on BuyBoard?
Yes. The FarrWest Service Program, covering on-site calibration, repairs, training and tech support, can be set up on BuyBoard with a single annual PO.
