The BADD™ (Biowarfare Agent Detection Devices) test strips employ agent-specific antibodies to identify botulinum toxin threats. After sample preparation, five drops of liquid mix are added to the sample port. The sample interacts with reagents and moves along the test material via lateral-flow immunochromatography. Two solid bands indicate a positive result; one band indicates negative results. Provides results in 3-15 minutes. Handheld, portable design (3 x 1.5 x 0.5 inches, 8g). Sensitivity: Botulinum toxin A at 33 ng/mL. Operating temperature: 0-48°C. Shelf life: 2 years. Requires minimal training (<1 day). Manufactured by AdVnt Biotechnologies.
