DrägerSensor IR is an advanced infrared sensor designed for fixed gas detection systems. It monitors flammable gases and vapors as well as carbon dioxide, offering a robust and long-life alternative to catalytic ex-sensors (pellistors). The sensor features problem-free integration with existing Dräger control systems and most third-party installations without requiring wiring modifications. It emulates a Wheatstone half-bridge configuration for compatibility. Key advantages include immunity to pellistor poisons, a typical lifespan exceeding 15 years, and significantly lower maintenance costs. The sensor includes a gas library covering three categories: methane, propane, and ethylene, detecting nearly all hydrocarbons effectively. It operates reliably across a wide temperature range (-40°C to +65°C) in humid atmospheres. Built with hermetically sealed stainless steel SS 316 enclosure, it features slim design for confined spaces, IP 65/66/67 ingress protection, and worldwide Ex approvals (ATEX, IECEx, UL, CSA).
