XplorIR is built on FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), applied to gases and vapors. Four steps run inside the instrument every time it takes a reading.
An active sample pump pulls the surrounding gas or vapor into the instrument, so the reading comes from the air in front of you.
Infrared light crosses the sample inside a long-path, multi-pass gas cell, and XplorIR delivers part per million (ppm) level sensitivity.
Each product shows up as unique spectral features. XplorIR uses adaptive atmospheric corrections to adjust to background atmospheric conditions, so the fingerprint is not lost in the air around it.
The spectrum is matched against the library of 5,600+ gases and vapors. XplorIR provides accurate ID of up to 6 components in real-time, even within complex gas mixtures.

With the Quantification Package, XplorIR uses a reference library based on known chemical concentrations to report the ppm of a product along with its identity, for thousands of hazardous chemicals. No user calibration required.
Once the concentration is known, the XplorIR software lets you compare it to the product's IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health) level, for rapid tactical decisions about remediation and decon with just a few button clicks. It can identify and quantify up to 6 mixture components at one time.
