    Accessory · S4PE

For agents that give little or no vapor

Most of the CWA are under liquid form at 20°C and cannot be detected by a standard vapor detector. The S4PE is used for the detection of these persistent agents giving little or no vapor on any surface including skin.

Scrape, insert, heat. The S4PE collects agents by scraping the surface to be controlled. After inserting in the sampling pipe, agents are evaporated by heating and allow the AP4C to perform the analysis of the collected liquid.

    Mode 1

    Simulation

A trainer sends fake electronic alarms from the control panel to a network of up to 8 trainees equipped with AP2C or AP4C, to familiarize them with both the detectors' alarms and a CBRN situation. Trainees in a range of 200m receive alarms on their detector, and the trainer sees all the trainees' displays on the control panel.

    Mode 2

    Remote control

The kit can also be used as a remote alarm device and display the real concentrations measured by the detectors.

    • 1 transmitter for control panel
    • 4 radio modules for AP2C or AP4C

    FAQ

    Common questions

What does "no library / no filters" mean in practice?
The AP4C is a hydrogen flame spectrometer detector. Proengin lists "No library / no filters" and "Real time and simultaneous detection" among its key features, and describes a single ON/OFF button, no settings or menu, no field calibration or filter, and a detection process that is completely automatic.
What maintenance does the AP4C need?
Proengin states: "There is no need to regularly start the detector to keep it operational and an annual check is the only required maintenance." Proengin also offers prepaid maintenance and extended warranty options upon initial acquisition. The warranty is 1 year.
Can it detect liquids and powders?
Gas, aerosols, liquids and powders are covered when used with Proengin sampling solutions. For persistent liquid agents on surfaces, the S4PE sampler scrapes the surface and heats the sample so the AP4C can analyse it.
Does the S4PE sampler cover PBAs or fourth-generation agents?
Proengin does not describe the S4PE that way. Proengin associates PBA and fourth-generation CWA detection with its newer S4PF sampler, which it calls "the next generation S4PE sampling systems solution". FarrWest lists the S4PE; ask us about sampler options when you request a quote.
How long does the battery last?
Battery running time is "Up to 12 hours (room temperature)", a specification for non-wireless monitors.
    Is the AP4C MIL-STD certified?
The AP4C is listed with "CE" and "GAM EG 13". MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 are pending, so we make no MIL-STD compliance claim.
Which kit options does Proengin list?
Three options are available: UC AP4C (standard kit with S4PE liquid sampler and extra consumables), UC AP4C MleF1 (extended kit with two S4PE and additional consumables) and the AP4C set (the AP4C without S4PE or consumables). Request a quote to discuss your requirement.
How is the AP4C different from the AP4C-F and AP4C-FB?
The AP4C is the ~2.1kg handheld. The AP4C-F and AP4C-FB are separate fixed-mount products with their own pages.
