Overview
The Rigaku Vector is a proximal standoff accessory for the Icon-X handheld 1064 nm Raman analyzer. Slide the Icon-X into the Vector's precision cradle and the same instrument your team carries into the hot zone becomes a hands-free standoff sensor that identifies unknown powders, liquids, pastes and solids from 1 to 3 meters (3.2 to 9.8 ft) away.
Built for EOD technicians, hazmat units, CBRNE teams and law enforcement, the Vector keeps the operator out of arm's reach of suspect material and leaves the scene undisturbed for evidence collection. It mounts to a tripod or a robotic platform via Picatinny rail and is operated remotely over WiFi or Ethernet using the Rigaku Vector browser application, or integrated into third-party and robotic control systems through an API.
An integrated rangefinder, autofocus and visible green aiming laser put the Raman laser on target, and a 2 MP visible/IR camera lets the operator see what is being scanned. The Icon-X needs no recalibration when moving between handheld and standoff use, and the Vector runs on the same 7.2 V Li-ion battery as the Icon-X for more than four hours of operation.
