Pumped or diffusion: decide first

The two versions share a display, alarms and most of the sensor list, but not all of it. The sampling method decides which sensors you can fit, whether AutoRAE 2 can test and calibrate the monitor, and how much it weighs on a belt. Pick the version before you pick the gases.

Common questions

Should I choose the pumped or the diffusion MultiRAE Lite?

Choose the pumped version (PGM-6208) if you need a PID sensor for VOCs, NDIR combustible sensors, or automatic bump testing and calibration with AutoRAE 2. Choose the diffusion version (PGM-6208D) for the smaller, lighter body (26.8 oz against 31 oz), the IP-67 rating, longer runtime per charge, or the diffusion-only sensors: EtO-C extended range, H2 and H2S extended range. Can the diffusion version measure VOCs?

Not with a PID. The PID sensor requires a pumped configuration, so VOC monitoring by photoionization needs the pumped MultiRAE Lite.

How many gases can it monitor at once?

One to six. Six gases require the CO + H2S combination sensor, which reads both CO and H2S from a single sensor position. There are over 25 interchangeable sensor options to choose from.

Is wireless included?

Wireless is optional. Wireless and non-wireless configurations are available, and additional equipment and/or software licenses may be required to enable remote wireless monitoring and alarm transmission. Tell us how you want readings shared and we will quote the right configuration.

Does it work with AutoRAE 2?

Yes, the pumped version. AutoRAE 2 supports the MultiRAE Lite pumped version only.

Can the MultiRAE Lite do benzene-specific measurement?

No. The benzene-specific cartridge can only be used on MultiRAE and MultiRAE Pro models equipped with a 9.8 eV lamp. The Lite's PID is the 10.6 eV sensor.

How long does the battery last?

For non-wireless monitors: ~12 hours pumped / 18 hours diffusion on the rechargeable Li-ion pack, ~18 / 28 hours on the extended-duration pack, and ~6 / 8 hours on the alkaline adapter with 4 x AA batteries.

Can I replace the pump myself?

No. Only authorized personnel should replace the pumps, and any attempt to change the pump will void the warranty. Contact us or your Honeywell Distribution Center. See also Repair Depot and Honeywell warranty service.

Does a charging cradle come with it?

No. Both Lite kits ship with a travel charger / PC communications adapter, AC adapter and PC communication cable; a desktop charging cradle is not included. See In the box for the full list.
