Alpha disk sources are designed for use as reference sources in laboratories, radiation protection, training and education, and security. Each source is manufactured by chemically plating radioactive material onto a silver disk mounted in Plexiglas®. Available in Po-210 with activities of 0.05 or 0.1 µCi and two disk sizes: 0.125 x 1.0 inches (3.2 x 25.4 mm) or 0.125 x 2.0 inches (3.2 x 50.8 mm). Ideal for performing functional checks on gamma counters, spectrometers, and radiation protection probes. Useful for educational demonstrations of radioactive decay, half-life, energy spectra, and radiation interactions. Suitable for functional checks of portable security devices and emergency exercises. Activities comply with U.S. NRC Exempt Quantity limits. Unsealed sources with ±20% maximum activity deviation.
